Black & Orange

Debra at Common Ground is having her fabulous Vintage Inspiration Friday party again this week. The optional theme is Fall and Halloween Tables which I had totally intended to do. I have been making plans for this since she announced the special theme a few weeks ago and dreaming up what I was going to show.

But alas, real life reared its head this week. My son has been home sick from school ALL WEEK and I have been working hard at keeping him happy, comfy and occupied.

Then I found out that my childhood Halloween was tragically cut short for no good reason (you can read about it here) and well, I have totally lost my mojo and just didn't have the energy needed to put together a table that didn't involve paper plates.

So instead I thought I'd take a quieter, slower paced route and just show you a little black and orange for the Halloween weekend. What is more inspiring than black and orange?

Enjoy your weekend and eat some candy corn for me!

  3. Beautiful in its simplicity....I love it! That pumpkin has great "stemmage", girl. Can I be honest? I actuallyenjoy this even more than elaborate tablescapes. This coming from someone who only has white dishes and brown stoneware and no cloth napkins, tablecloths or placemats! I, for one, am a huge fan of paper plates!!! LOL. So kudos to you for bypassing the self-inflicted stress of trying to do something any more elaborate than this vignette when you have a kiddo home sick. Nothing you could have done would have been any more effective or stunning.

Have a great weekend and a hauntingly good Halloween!

  9. I see you got a pumpkin! I love the simplicity of the shots, but have a confession. I was telling the man about how you got cheated as a kid(sorry Pam, I did have a chuckle at the irony) but nonetheless felt bad for you. Look at it this way, what if someone was planning to put bad stuff in the candy one of those years, crisis diverted:) At least you didn't have the option, as opposed to my child hood of hearing how stupid it was and blah, blah, blah, coming from my mom's mouth. Misery loves company, so cheers to us, lol.

  12. Beautiful photos!!! I love the leaves. I hope your son is better. My two girls were home this week with strep and flu. Luckily, they were not very sick and we really had a nice week home with the rainy, cold weather outside.
