Debbie is having a pet party today and I couldn't let my babies miss out on this opportunity to have the spotlight on them. Because it's never about the animals around here. They never get any attention! Yeah, right.
Well let's see, you've met Sheba the Shiba Inu before in this post HERE:

And Otis the shelter cat in this post HERE:

So I thought I'd introduce you to Ben the guinea pig today. Besides, I didn't have a link for his sidebar photo, so I thought it'd be a good chance to make one.
We've had Ben a couple years. Back when we got him he was about 1/4 the size he is now. Such a cute little thing.

But he likes to eat. And eat. And then eat some more.
So now he's quite the hefty little piggy!

My husband built an outside cage for him so he can hang out with us in the yard during the summer months.

He's never out there long, because I'm paranoid of snakes or hawks getting him. But it gives him a chance to experience a little freedom.
I potted him up some parsley so he could have his fill of it when he's tired of eating plain old grass.

Nope, he's not spoiled at all!

Go on over to Debbie's party to take a look at some other people's
Ben is adorable and I bet he loves the parsely you planted for him!
ReplyDeleteI also went and checked out your Sheba's post too... I LOVE "meeting" another shiba owner! They're so rare you hardly do! Looks like they enjoy the same things only you have a much more interesting backyard!
Looks like your Shiba is more true to the breed... Suki is much lankier and bigger, she's 35 lbs. I'm amazed you can keep her on a collar, Suki always manages to get out of a collar, so she always has to wear a harness.
Anyway, I could just go on and on! Thanks for the visit!
Hi Big Ben!!~ Well he sure is a cutie pie. Ben has the life I see...as do Sheba and Otis. You sure have an eclectic mix Pam, that I am sure keep you smiling and laughing often. I thank you so much for sharing with us...it has been a wonderful day to see all these pets. I think pets are bonding us women even more so....

I agree Ben is not spoiled at all -just well loved. His outside crate is awesome. :)
ReplyDeleteBen is the star! He is the only guinea pig I have seen so far at Debs party. Of course we are going to call the authorities because ben is not being fed LOL the poor undernourished baby. Thanks for stopping by!!

I got all excited when I heard someone had a pig!!! Then I see it's a cute little furry one! Lovin' the outdoor cage your hubby built, that's great:@)
ReplyDeleteOh I love Ben!!!!!!!!!! I could just squish him!!
ReplyDeleteLove the photo of your cat sitting in the middle of the wreath! Is this not so typical of cats? I mean put out a basket of fresh laundry and see what they do!
I love your new blog look and banner!
By the way what kind of snakes? Yikes i hate them!!

I love all your beautiful pets, Pam! We have had 7 guinea pigs over the years~ they are such sweet pets. Your Ben looks like a very happy pig~ I love his outdoor cage and parsley. I used to pick dandelion leaves for ours (we never spray in our backyard). We lost our last pig last fall, the grandkids named him Darth Maul (from Star Wars) for his red eyes, but he looked like Ben. I still miss his little squeaking greeting!
ReplyDeleteWe used to have long haired cavies when I was growing up and they were really lovable to my brothers and I. Ben looks like a sweetie.
ReplyDeleteHe is so cute!
ReplyDeleteI love guinea pigs, Ben is just too cute! He looks like he's living the good life with you:)
ReplyDeleteAw, Pam...What a cutie Ben is. Did you know if you picked him up by his tail his eyeballs will fall out? That was always the joke when we were growing up...of course..there IS no tail...lol..or not to speak of anyway. We had them as kids growing up too..along with dogs and cats and chicks. Hugs- Diana
ReplyDeleteAwww sweet Mr Ben. I always wondered about him when I see his photo on your sidebar Pam. He is precious and I adore his outdoor cafe. Too cute! :)
ReplyDeleteAh Ben, so nice to meet ya! Do not fret I am fluffy too! Hi OtiS!
ReplyDeleteLove Ben. Man he is healthy and handsome. I remember and so love Sheba. Otis if a fine cat as well. They all look happy and healthy. Hugs, ginger
ReplyDeleteBen's a big boy. He keeps eating he's going to be mistaken for a groundhog. Jordan had a black GP named Midnight. He loved that little guy and still has pictures of him up in his bedroom.
ReplyDeleteI love Otis' big yawn. He seems so very bored with us. Great picture of him peeping out of the foliage.
Sheba is a beautiful ball of fur. I'd like to snuggle up with Sheba.
You have a grogeous family of fur balls, Pam.
Ben is adorable. I do love guineas, they're so cuuuuute. We have two girl guineas, Sooty and Squeak (and boy, do they squeak).
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by and leaving such sweet comments from the pet party!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, you have a Shiba!!! We love them! My cousin has two of them... They are hilarious... More like cats than dogs.
Oh and I love the hydrangeas on your newest post... They are one of my favorite flowers!
=)

I love piggies! We had a couple and would love another, we just don't have room right now, without a basement garage or extra room. They are so fun! We had a little outside run once and went out to the store and forgot piggie outside! She was still there and didn't miss us at all.
ReplyDeleteI had a guinea pig once. It had quite a personality. They are a fun little pet. Yours might be a bit spoiled, hah. He sure is chubby but so snuggly.
ReplyDeleteI love Ben! I've had 2 little "wheeky girls" of my own, but am sadly cavy-free at the moment.
ReplyDeleteLove your furry crew! Ben is adorable and I bet he loves you all the more for spoiling him! He has an adorable little face!
ReplyDeleteBen sure is a cutie! What does Otis think of him?
ReplyDeleteAw, look at your baby! He's a sweetie. We used to have two pet rats, and they were the dearest, smartest little critters. They chirped and talked, and almost purred.
ReplyDeleteNow we have just one cat and one dog, both of whom are curled up and fast asleep, ignoring our blizzard. :)
Hey there,
ReplyDeleteI found your blog through Melissa's Heart and Home's blog post...I'm so glad that I followed my nose on over here...your blog is so beautiful, and fun...I've been exploring it and having fun here...it sure has been a great way to spend a cold winter morning! Love your vintage finds and that black shelf looks awesome with your hydrangeas and old jars and other treasures....That's such a cute photo mosaic you made too...your furbabies are little dolls :)
Hope you'll drop by and visit me at my blog sometime...I'll be following yours :)
Big Hugs,
Queenie
LOVE all your furry friends...Really Love Lil'Ben! He's a cutie...We have had LOTS of guinea pigs. They are SO SWEET! We used to have a kiddie pool that we would let ours get their exercise outside with us... I TOO worried myself silly over something SWOOPING DOWN and taking them away! I had a Peruvian one that "Looked Like a Walking Wig", it was TOO CUTE!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your sweet critters...
Hugs, Donna
