A tisket, a tasket
A brown basket
A brown basket
Wait, I think it says something about a green and yellow basket. Oh well, at least I had some fun thrift store finds this week.
Wooden picnic basket made by West Rindge Baskets in New Hampshire for $2.92. It is just in OK condition, since it has a broken splint in the front and the lid is missing a few nails. But I thought it was cute and springy.
A silverplated serving dish for $2.00.
A silverplated footed bowl for $1.00.
Silverplated forks made by Winthrop for 25 cents each.
OK, I admit it. I have a silver problem. I'm pretty sure I can kick it though. Maybe tomorrow.
Did you notice that I drug out my Daffodils again. Thought I'd take advantage of them while I can.
I'm joining Tales from Bloggeritaville's Thrifty Thursday, No Minimalist Here's Open House Party and Blue Creek Home's very first Treasure Hunt Thursday.
Love the basket- have a little thing for them :).
ReplyDeleteBut my heart beats fast for tarnished silver and this is in just the right stage for me :).
You are going to polish it, aren't you? You know that's an unending battle.
Cool finds and I never tire of daffodils. I am posting mine every chance I get.
Happy evening- Tete
Wonderful finda all. The basket is beautiful. I love baskets!
ReplyDeleteHi Pam! I love your finds and the basket is positively wonderful! Well, I love that tray too!

ReplyDeleteI am so glad you came to my first Treasure Hunt Thursday party...hope you will come back often.
I love vintage silver too - love that pattern and for a quarter each???? I'm jealous!
Want to go to a 12 step program with me????

Hi Pam, I love all your thrifty finds and especially the basket. I would have grabbed it too. I also have a silver problem! Your new silver finds are wonderful. Thanks for joining the party.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Sherry
What a fun basket Pam, lovin' that serving dish too:@)
ReplyDeleteLove the basket and the silver is fabulous. I have a silver problem also, I have tons and yet I just can't pass it up with it is so inexpensive. Your found some real treasures. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteYou always find the best deals! Hey, how about painting that picnic basket in your "turquoise" paint? That would look great!! (Or another color, to hide the discrepancies that you wrote about!) I am planning to spray paint a big handled basket I have for Spring that doesn't look that great in its original state... as soon as the damn weather gets better over here to go outside to spray paint! :)
ReplyDeleteBest,
Gloria
Hi Pam!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds! My neighbor's daffodils are starting to perk up. Hey, did you see that big golden ball is the sky today?
Great finds Pam! That basket is pretty cute :)
ReplyDeleteI have that very same basket. I used to hide my answering machine in it because I thought it looked ugly on my counter. Now it's in the phone so no need to hide. Check out my blog posts this week. I have a very easy way to clean that silver.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great picnic basket...and just in time for nice weather! Love the silverware, too! It's gorgeous! ♥
ReplyDeletePam you always find the best stuff. So pretty!
ReplyDeletelove your finds! I love all the silver!!
ReplyDeleteSeriously I have to start coming to your neck of the woods to thrift. You always have the best luck. Love that basket!
ReplyDeleteI'll bring the wine and cheese. Your basket is divine.
ReplyDeleteFun finds! I love the pattern on the forks! I'm a sucker for silverware from that era. And I actually have the covered serving dish. Got mine for a wedding present in 1973. It has a divided glass insert inside.
ReplyDeleteYou did really good! I have that same silver serving dish...it belonged to hubby's mom...and I LOVE your picnic basket! xxoo Diana
ReplyDeleteFirst things first....thank you for linking to my Thrify Thursday party today! What great finds! I oo have a silver weakness, esp if there is a monogram or a name of where it came from on it. LOVE your finds!
ReplyDeleteThank you for dropping by Tales from Bloggeritaville. Come again...and soon :)
Have a great day!

What great finds for super cheap. And I love the daffodils, they are such a happy little flower, they have that ability to cheer you up.
ReplyDeleteI just adore picnic baskets! That is a beautiful one and looks like one my parents used to have. What fun finds. If they had applied a little elbow grease to the silver pieces they could have gotten a lot more for them - aren't you glad they didn't!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
I have a thing for silver too. It's especially addicting when thrifting!
ReplyDeleteOh Pam....that silver serving dish...mmmmmmm....yep - I can't say that I'm bad when it comes to silver, but I do enjoy a few pieces....now, when it comes to Karrie - she's been known to clean out a whole flea market full of silver :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!!
Wow, I never get jealous of other people but I came close with this blog. Apparently we have the same taste. I collect picnic baskets and have that same silver serving dish. I'm also trying to pick up utensils for my daughter to repurpose. I haven't seen prices that low! I admire you (it's better than being jealous).
ReplyDeleteHi Pam,
ReplyDeleteWhat a bargain hunter you are. I used to collect baskets also. I stopped more than 2 years ago. A tisket a tasket, I need more baskets!! I'm going to the thrift shop with you now on!!!
xxx Liz
Love that basket. Nothing like a bargain!!! ~~Sherry~~
ReplyDeleteI have a silver problem too! Love your forks! Pretty cute basket too! Thanks for coming by!
