Tippecanoe And Tyler Too

On Saturday, a few of us Ohio bloggers met up in Tipp City, Ohio for a day of shopping, food and chatting. I don't get out a lot without my husband and son in tow, so it's like a vacation to be out with just the girls!

Sue from Sullivan and Murphy, Pam from Frippery, Debby from Cozy Blanket, Susie Q from Rabbit Run Cottage and Jo from That's My Story were my shopping companions. It's always great to meet fellow bloggers and I had a wonderful time with the group.

I had never been to that part of Ohio before (more of a Northeastern and Central Ohio kind of gal), so it was interesting to check out this town in Western Ohio.

Tipp City has some great historic buildings. One of which was an old hotel which now houses a bunch of shops and businesses under the name The Hotel Gallery.

We all had a great time finding treasures at Past Perfect Antiques. This place was full of really cool vintage finds for very reasonable prices.

They even sold Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint and had a slew of furniture painted up with it so you could check out the colors. I'm a duck egg blue kind of person, I think.

After shopping there, we headed out to lunch at a fancy schmancy restaurant called Coldwater Cafe where we proceeded to run the waitress ragged.

We tipped her well and no one ran out on their bill, so I'm sure they would let us back in. If we don't go back anytime soon. And change our hairstyles.

(The obligatory photo of my food)

On the way out of town, I had to stop by the funeral home and take photos. Not of the recently deceased, but of the building.

This was the prettiest funeral home I have ever seen.

I would have stayed and taken more photos, but as I was taking the last one a girl in tennis shoes and shorts and her dog walked into the front door, so I figured that it may be a private residence also. Or else a very casual funeral home.

BTW, just in case you're wondering, I really don't spend all my time either in cemeteries or funeral homes.

So what did you buy in Tipp City, Pam?

Glad you asked. Well, I bought a really cool square vintage suitcase.

With initials engraved on it.

Miss Beatrice Catherine Edwards.

OK, I totally made that name up.

It's a great size to store things in and will go well with my other suitcases.

Monkey? What monkey? Don't know what you're referring to.

So how was your weekend? Did you meet any new friends?

  5. I'm so happy that you were able to enjoy a girls-day out. Beautiful pictures and your thrifting finds are very interesting. Have I ever mentioned that my parents own a funeral home? My mother would be flattered to have her funeral home on someone's blog.
