Urban Farmhouse Part 2

I finally got some of my Christmas decor boxes out of the crawl space last night, so I'm going to try to kick start my holiday decorating today. I feel so behind. Normally, I start decorating first thing in the morning on the day after Thanksgiving. Just wasn't feeling it yet this year.

Here are the second half of the photos of my day of shopping at Urban Farmhouse in Thornville, Ohio. You can see Part 1 of the tour HERE.

I meant to pick up some of this tinsel garland, but was too busy taking photos and forgot about it by the time I checked out.

I did pick up an angel wing though.

Just one. Although I love the look of a wing on the back of each chair, with two dogs and a cat they would last about ten seconds in my house. As it was, the dogs were sniffing at my solitary wing as I was bringing it in the door.

Is this not the most awesome bird cage? Those are real birds in there.

And saving the best for last, they had one of my holey metal buckets here (aka a Turkish olive basket)! It was also priced at $65.00, so that must be the going rate for them around these parts.

I did not buy it. I am holding out for the $5.00 one that I am sure is out there somewhere in the world. Anyone traveling to Turkey anytime soon?

OK, enough computer time, I need to get some of this holiday decor out of the boxes and put around the house before I start getting stressed out about it. And the holidays are no fun if you are stressed.

  1. Pam, I haven't started my holiday decorating either! Hopefully, my husband will help me get out the decorations this weekend. Like you, I am feeling the stress of not getting it done.

I love the angel wings! What a great place for inspiration!

  6. I have not been there yet this season. I live fairly close too! I just got some of my stuff out today too. I am looking at a standing crooked unadorned tree at the moment. I got it together and now the hubby will have to tweek it at the bottom to make it straight. My house looks like an explosion! Hopefully, I will get my second wind and get some organization going in here! Good luck with your decorating and have fun! ~Hugs, Patti

  8. Don't feel bad, I have had my tree up since Thanksgiving, and not a lite bulb or ornament in site. Well, they are in site but not on tree!!! They are all over the living room. The dogs are starting to look at the garland with a gleem in their eyes!

Pam, you are so right. No sense getting stressed out. Now, I need to make note of it also.

  12. What a fun place! I would go there as often as I could, too. I really do love that bird cage. I have a thing for bird cages (sans birds).

Pam, a few weeks back when we were at a large flea market I came across a seller with a bunch of your holey metal buckets! Super pricey, but I told my husband, "I have to take a picture to show Pam from House of Hawthorne's!" So I took the picture then forgot about it, lol! Just to let you know I was thinking of you, here it is:

  16. Pam, that shop looks like a fantastic place to shop or just gather ideas for decorating. I hope you find your bucket soon. You must have lots of will power to want it so badly and yet hold out for a good deal. I don't think I've ever seen one like that. Have never seen angel wings either. My dogs would go crazy too if they were in my house. They are pretty crazy anyway! Looking forward to seeing your Christmas decorating.-------Shannon

  17. Pam, with all our "life" right now, I haven't started much of my holiday decorating either! I need to get some things out to keep things normal for the girls. That shop looks like a favorite place to haunt. Thanks for sharing. I can't wait to see your holiday decor!
