We got a bit of the more traditional cold and snow last week.
Followed by 60 degree weather on Monday. Bye-bye snow.
I am not normally a snow lover. Actually, I would be happy it if only snowed on Christmas Eve. But I'm not sure I will fully appreciate spring when it comes, if I don't have some really bone chilling cold days and a few feet of snow at some point this winter.
OK, now I just jinxed it. Cue the Blizzard of 2012.
My daffodils had better hunker on down again, just in case that blizzard is on its way.
Yes, that photo was taken yesterday. No, I didn't rake the leaves this year. I was too busy blogging.
BTW, I finished The Help yesterday. LOVED IT!!! I've been humming Bob Dylan's song, Times They Are A Changin', all day (hence the questionable grammar in my post's title).

It's certainly been an odd winter with the delay in snow. We actually had quite a bit of snow and then we had a thunder storm roll through Sunday night. Weird. Love the shot of your daffodils.
ReplyDeleteMy daffodils have all of their buds above ground - the earliest this has ever happened! I'm holding out for at least one good snow this year. My husband bought a snow blower this summer and I told him he jinxed us from getting any snow this year. I loved The Help too - couldn't put it down.
ReplyDeleteThis has been the weirdest winter...we finally had some cold and snow here in Minnesota, but still only a couple of inches on the ground, rather than the couple of feet we usually have. It's been more ice here... my daughter went into a ditch yesterday, thank goodness she was ok. Love your photos, especially the new plants emerging!
ReplyDeleteHere in California, we had to use umbrellas on Monday, but by Thursday we're expecting summer weather! Crazy!
ReplyDeleteI had to smile at Heather's post. As you know, last week-end we had snow, then ice, then snow, then on Monday rain and the 60's and then it was supposed to snow again last night. I didn't see any this morning though. Snow predicted tomorrow. I think Mother Nature needs some Prozac.
ReplyDeleteCan't believe your daffodils are coming up.....it's January, hah.
Glad you liked The Help. I did, too. That was a good song and I remember it the first time around!;>) Okay..if you have jinxed us with a big storm I am not going to come visit you again~!;>O Okay-just kiddin' xo Diana
ReplyDeleteWe have sun today! I no longer need meds!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. Finally have covering of snow but I'm not sure how long it will last. the kids are happy that it's finally been cold enough to keep the ice frozen so they can skate.
ReplyDeleteLove your photos.....hope your daffodils don't get killed by the "Blizzard of 2012"!!!
ReplyDeleteMuch as I am not a lover of snow, I would take it over rain any day! I actually am anxious for spring and warmer weather!
ReplyDeleteThe trees and flowers are in a state of shock here...one day temps in 70s, then tornadoes, then back to freezing...I don't know what mother nature has in store for us next!!
ReplyDeletePam,
ReplyDelete60??? Wow, what is that about? Yeah, I can relate to those leaves.
Too ;) Have a great week my Friend.
xxx Liz
I know what you mean about the weather. It's been crazy here too. A very mild winter. 5 inches of snow one day. Thunderstorms washing it away the next. Your poor daffodils peaking through the earth now. They need to go back to sleep. LOL Take care.
ReplyDeleteWhat great photos Pam. I hope your wrong about the blizzard of 2012. I for one, can live without it.
ReplyDeleteWeird in Philly too... started with the before Halloween snow:@)
ReplyDeleteI agree, Pam. Our weather here in CT has been weird too. We had at least six inches of snow over the weekend, then yesterday it was 50 degrees, and today, almost all of the snow is gone! I cannot remember the last time so much snow has cleared so quickly! My mother always said, years ago, that one day the East Coast will have the weather the West Coast now has, and the West Coast will get our weather. Wonder if her prediction will ever come to pass?? ;)
ReplyDeleteBest,
Gloria
You have got to be kidding! I was afraid some of my bulbs would start popping...it's way too early! I saw you were featured over at Coastal Charm with your pretty lampshade! Way to go!!!!
ReplyDeleteFaye
What? Your daffodils were coming up already? I'm not a snow lover either...this winter has been wonderful as far as I'm concerned. I read The Help too. Wasn't that such a good book? I want to see the movie now.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you have growth!! This weather has been so weird for sure! It is sunny and 40 here today, then we get snow this weekend, then 50's next week! I would be happy with a long spring. :)
