Now if I could only say that I found a lot of really cool stuff. I did find a little bit though and if I found everything on the first Saturday of the season, then what fun would that be?
I found this adorable little bitty Baby Brownie camera, the Special edition, which was produced from 1939 - 1954.
This thing is small at only 2 1/2 inches wide and 3 inches tall. It has been on my bucket list of cameras that I want to own, so I can mark that one off.
A little chicken which says Japan on the bottom. I have a hard time passing up a china chicken statue for some reason. They just call to the kitschy side of me. Who am I kidding, Kitsch is my middle name.
A cloth bag that Bob Evans sausage came in. I don't think this is vintage, but I can't remember the last time I saw a bag o'sausage at the grocery store.
And this dorky little donkey that I am hoping to put in my terrarium, if ever I make one. You have heard that terrariums are on a comeback, right?
So a nice little start to the season. Did you do any garage sale-ing this weekend?

Very few sales here, so far... I wish the weather would get warm and stay that way, then people wouldn't be afraid to get wet! LOL As for me, I'm always open for yard sale shopping, regardless of the weather! Love your new camera- I sure hope I can find some "new" ones this season. :-) Sue
ReplyDeleteI love your little Brownie camera, Pam. It's the sweetest, but so is the chicken and donkey. You did very good!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited about garage sale season, too! You found some wonderful items. I have that Baby Brownie Special in my collection, but it's really beat up. I'd like to find one in better condition. Good luck with that, huh?
ReplyDeleteNo garage sales here yet! It is still too cold and the weather is too unpredictable. I love your finds though. That donkey is just hysterical. My gdaughter and I made a terrarium about 3 weeks ago and it looks great. She loved doing it- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking to myself,"Why, Pam needs more things in her life". And then you go ahead with this post! ha!
ReplyDeleteI hope you've been well.

Hey, great finds for the start of the new season! I did not get out to any this weekend but I did see some signs but they were over with by the time that I had seen them but they did make me happy to see them!~Patti
ReplyDeleteYep - I did. I found an old toy typewriter and a large stack of old sheet music. Planning to post some pics tonight - but I spent less than $10 on both items. Yaaay!
ReplyDeleteI love your sweet little donkey.
You got that sweet camera at a garage sale. I love it. It must be tiny. Like the donkey and the rooster as well. I saw a couple of garage sale signs this week-end so they are starting.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait until I have more mobility. I've been missing my thrifting adventures. My husband isn't missing them though. That camera is just fantastic and I have a "small" collection of chickens. Have fun creating that terrarium. They are definitely popular again.
ReplyDeleteNo garage sales yet over here. I can't wait though. Soon.

Garage sales starting up are truy the first sign of Spring where I live. Yay!! Your little camera is incredible -- I've never seen one like it before. And to have found it at a yard sale ... lucky you!
ReplyDeleteWe went to the BOMB Diggity of garage sales but I cannot blog about it sadly. Must keep it a secret. Love the chicken and sausage bag.
ReplyDeleteOur city wide garage sale is in just 2 weeks. I hope the snow is gone!
ReplyDeleteYour little camera is adorable. And the Porky Pig bag is pretty cute, too.
WHAT great finds. Only thing at garage sales around here are BABY clothes and toys. Makes me crazy. Take care.
ReplyDeleteGreat finds. Love the little Brownie--I want one!
ReplyDeleteBeen to a couple before Easter but nothing recently.

ReplyDeleteIt's still quite chilly up here most days, but we did come across one sale this weekend which made me happy. I'm eager for the season to start in earnest already!
A Bag-O-Sausage??? I can say that's new to me, our Pork Roll comes in cloth but you'd never see it intact like that-interesting:@)
ReplyDeleteSome really great find, I don't ever remember seeing Bob Evans Sausage coming in a bag? I want one!
ReplyDelete1) Until you make your terrarium, you can stick him in a potted plant!
ReplyDelete2) Those apple branches are STUNNING against that chalkboard backdrop.
3) I am cheering you on that you WILL find a steal of Turkish olive bucket this garage sale season!
Sadly not garage sales yet this season! I love the camera, that was a really special find, Laura
ReplyDeleteOH that little camera is ADORABLE! It's now on MY bucket list! And I'm a closet terrarium lover -- the little donkey will be perfect! I just love the 'smallness' of the plants and rocks and 'stuff' in them!
ReplyDeleteYou found some great goodies, Pam! So great when you find the thing you've been hunting for! Your photos are lovely!
ReplyDeleteI love the bag, where they have to explaing where S. Bidwell, Ohio is. That cracks me up!
ReplyDeleteLucky, lucky you. I haven't seem a single sale around here yet but soon I'm hoping.
ReplyDeleteI love your finds, the camera is cool, the chicken is cute and the donkey is down right ADOROABLE with a capital A. But then I have a thing for donkeys.

ReplyDeleteI haven't seen any garage sales yet in my area...but hopefully soon. I love the little rooster and the donkey; he's so cute! I've been seeing things for terrariums everywhere lately, or 'fairy gardens'. They seem to be "in" again. Thank you also for your kind comment on my blog post about my father's passing away. I appreciated it very much.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a garage saler, but I plan on having one this year. I'm dreading the whole thing.
ReplyDeleteOh, I just love all of your finds! The camera, chicken and donkey are just fab. Thanks so much for stopping by L'Heure Bleue At Home.
