It’s Snowing Hearts

Another super duper quick Valentine’s Day decoration.

Take a jar. Put a bag of cinnamon hearts in the bottom. Plop in a copy of a vintage Valentine postcard. Instant red hot romance.

OK, that might be going a bit far. Instant vignette, at least.

I was going to put Valentine M&M’s in it, but my butt’s big enough. You gotta use a candy that you don’t love more than life itself or you’re just asking for it to be refilled constantly.

It’s the same jar I used in December for a snowy scene.

I’m already searching for pint sized leprechauns for St. Patty’s Day.

I am laughing about the candy because that is so true! If it’s not candy I like it will last in the vignette. I really like your jar. I think my Mom has one like that, hmmmm wonder if I can ‘borrow’ it next time I visit her!

I seriously cannot find a candy I will not eat if I am craving sugar-I am craving sugar often my friend. Love this idea. I actually found a vintage Valentine today-aren’t you proud of me? Must have got it at an estate sale.

What a cute vignette! This would be a great one for me to do. I wouldn’t even eat all of the candy out of it. I’ve got the perfect pink depression glass cookie jar for it.
I think you can get a leprechaun in time for St. Patrick’s day if you start now. Just put the empty jar outside with the lid off and a leprechaun may wander in. Or if that plan fails, you may be able to find one for sale online.

They sell them at Walmart in the food storage area (where they have canisters for your counter) and I’ve seen them at Hobby Lobby also. And oddly enough I saw some in the dollar bins at Target the other day, except they were much smaller. Hope you can find them, they come in handy!

Hi Pam! I was super excited to go back and find this post on my Valentine Pinterest board, knowing that I had everything I needed to complete it — even the very same jar! I didn’t have the jar out for 24 hours before I found my husband reaching for a snack! I was dumbfounded. The cinnamon candies aren’t really a temptation for me… guess I thought they wouldn’t be for anyone else either. *wrong. Still loved the idea, but may need to rework it a little since we can’t seem to walk by candy around here. LOL
