While rummaging around an antique store the other day, I found a new thing to collect that I didn't even know existed.
Vintage maple syrup tins.
Or at least I think this one is vintage. It has vintage-ish graphics on it and doesn't have ingredients listed on the can nor a bar code, so I'm calling it vintage.
Notice the huge leaf beside the tin. Just a coincidence that it's there, but I think it may be a maple leaf?
Our neighbor has some maple trees, so it may have just blown into out yard. But still, it's a tiny bit Twilight Zone-ish that it just happens to be sitting where I plopped the can down.
The tin has a slightly different graphic on the other side (which I didn't notice until after I had finished taking the first photos, taken my coat and boots off and put my camera away), so I quickly ran it back outside in a completely different locale to take this photo. No spooky maple leaf this time.
Makes me want to curl up by the fire at a ski lodge with a good Kindle book and a waffle.

I only use maple syrup now. No HFCS for us. The can is gorgeous. Yay you are on Blog Her-I really need to get busy and apply.

Hey Pam- That is the tin container we used to use in PA in the late 50's or early 60's for maple syruping. I would always steal a can away and go make maple sugar...oh my was that good! I haven't seen one of those tins in YEARS! Great find- xo Diana

Miss Pam, my daddy used to bring in Maple Syrup in a can just like that when I was a little Chicklett back in the fifties.
Yes, I am THAT old!
God bless ya and have a marvelous weekend sweetie!!!
What a wonderful find!!!

Great tin!!! I'm sure it is vintage; just the graphic alone makes me think so; it doesn't look like a reproduction!!! I LOVE vintage tins; I have quite a few different ones. I'd love to find a syrup one!

Now I want a waffle. LOL LOVE the tin, vintage or not. But me thinks it is vintage. GREAT find. Wonder how old it is? NICE photos. I liked the maple leaf. Take care.

Love your syrup tin!!! I have a log cabin-shaped tin, also. It's in my "V is for" post. Isn't it fun to discover something you didn't even know existed???

What a fabulous syrup tin. Such a perfect photo shoot too! I have a log cabin shaped syrup tin that my husband gave me for my birthday last year. Happy Friday!
