This is the ladder that I bought a few weeks ago at a garage sale. I have this vignette sitting right outside of my living room door so I can see it from both inside and out. As a matter of fact, I am looking at it right now.
I added my can of unknown purpose which I bought last weekend at the Springfield Antique Show and Extravaganza.
I purchased these metal spiders years ago at a craft fair and wish I would have picked up more of them.
They always find a way into my fall decor. Sometimes clinging to a hay bale, sometimes just climbing up random items on the porch. Casper appears to be terrified of them!
My coleus is still alive and kicking, but will probably wither away at first frost.
In past years I had been cutting these blooms off as soon as they appeared, because I buy coleus more for the foliage rather than the flowers. But this year I have been keeping them on the plant. They are actually sort of pretty.
Speaking of flowers, I am a sucker for mums. I can't walk into the garden center without walking out with one.
The lighter yellow/orange one (Golden Cheryl) isn't blooming at the same rate as the darker orange ones (Hannah Orange). So my expected explosion of rich fall colors hasn't quite happened yet.
Tell me, are you done with your fall outdoor decorating or do you wait until closer to Halloween? Or skip it all together?

ReplyDeleteI just love your metal spider! In fact, your whole porch looks great! I haven't even started fall decorating yet. I need to get on it! :)
ReplyDeleteLooking quite festive on the porch.

Your porch looks great Pam! I'll probably buy a mum for the planter out front but that's about it:@)
ReplyDeleteYou are killing me with the spiders but I love the ladder and punkin. I have my punkins out and about eight mums outside. hugs♥O
ReplyDeleteLoves it, and I love the can! You are doing great with your Fall/Halloween decorating, I just love your whimsy touches too.
ReplyDeleteI don't see why a step ladder wouldn't apply. It has a surface! I'm still in love with the bowling ball. This is really pretty. I love the mums too.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
I love your porch decor! The ladder is an ingenious idea and I love the spiders {because they are fake!!!}
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
Pam-It all looks great-Love all the FALL that is everywhere in your post. That can is an old gasoline can and was probably red, or orange, in its previous life. We had a couple of them on the farm when I was a kid. I used to like to sniff the gas when they unscrewed the cap - Go figure- you knew I'd be THAT kid, didn't you?
ReplyDeleteYour porch is just gorgeous all dressed for Fall! xo Diana
Your porch looks great with all your touches of fall! I love your ladder. I'm done with fall in the inside but I haven't started on the outside yet. I need to get busy!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your evening,
Gail
It's a very off-beat table and that's why I love it! So cheerful and fun. No creepy Halloween decor at this house, just fall joy. andrea @ townandprairie
ReplyDeleteI think it is an old gas can! And a step ladder as a table...yep, that counts...in fact, I gotta find me one of those!!
ReplyDeleteVery cute decorating Pam! Love the big spider! Too cute!~Hugs, Patti
ReplyDeleteLOVINg your porch Pam -- so welcoming -- even the spider ;)
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Gail
Pam, everything looks so good! I'm lovin your spiders too! I love you orange mums too!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are getting your spook on! Love those spiders! Just the cutest idea I have seen for a lone while! Those are screw driver handles, old wood ones, and I could probably use old clothes hangers for legs since I cannot weld nails together. Love them!
ReplyDeleteYour photos are fantastic and I love mums.
A ladder is a table top- you did good!
Very cute! I love the color from your mums!
ReplyDeleteI need to transform my step ladder on our back deck. Your spiders are AWESOME! My hubby totally approves. I made him come peek at your blog this morning.
ReplyDelete(Visiting from Coastal Charm) I love the metal spider and ghost you have here! So cute on the step ladder.
ReplyDeleteThose spiders have a creepy, yet cute quality. I can see where they'd work out perfectly for squishing into a hay bale. Love your decorating, Pam. You sure are lot further ahead then I am. My potted flowers are looking so good right now, that I'm thinking all just get some mums in a similar color to add to the look.
ReplyDeleteAwesome photo's. Love those metal spiders and your Coleus is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteYour Halloween step ladder is so much fun. Love the metal spiders and the cute pumpkin. I'm ready for mums too and need to go to the garden center. I always love how mums have girl's names. I have a bronze one one named Tabitha that I planted in the yard.
ReplyDeleteHappy Fall.
Love your porch, Pam!
ReplyDeleteYou do the best decorating! I just love your style and I love your finds at yard sales and thrift stores!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Mary
Thanks for giving me a great idea for using the little ladder I was going to remove from my studio. I love what you've done for fall. No decorating going on around here...yet. Hopefully soon...I better get myself in gear or the holiday will just pass me by. Hugs-Carrie
ReplyDeleteI would leave with those gorgeous mums, too!!! Awesome color! Love the fun Halloween porch decor!!!
ReplyDeleteYour porch looks great with lots of different items used for decoration. I am always impressed with your creativity, Pam. Love those coleus, too.------Shannon
ReplyDeleteLovin' your front porch, Pam! To think you could have bought MY ladder! LOL Your mums will pop open soon enough. My big ones are so wet, they are drooping and leaving gaps in the top. Not attractive.... I'll put out Halloween stuff the middle of Oct. I'm so late getting autumn things out this week. Talk soon, are you going to the French Hen Farm sale? I'll be there Fri. -the husband is off and wants to go. ♥ Sue
ReplyDeleteI love your porch display, esp the ladder and spiders. I've just bought pumpkins, a bundle of cornstalks, and mums so far, haven't had time to do any real decorating.
ReplyDeleteProbably won't get to either. :(
Love the simplicity of the porch, and wish you had bought-en more of those ants, because I would of begged you for one. Thanks for stopping by my blog, and liking my "trash to nightstand" post. Like your blog so, I Facebooked you!
