    Kate Is A Commoner

Published by Pam Kessler | 163 words. · About 1 minute to read this article. - 10 Comments

The other day Gloria from The Little Red House With The White Porch asked me how I was going to display one of my old typewriters. I had to laugh to myself.

Oh, if you could only see where Kate is right now. Oh, wait. I have a blog, you can see.

Here she is in. Hanging out on my kitchen counter.

Did you have visions of a charming little vignette involving the typewriter with a vintage letter in the carriage next to a silver urn full of fresh hydrangea? Me too.

But this is reality. I put her here and started shining her up a bit.

That was at least two or three weeks ago and she's been sitting here every since. In that picturesque place between the compost pail and my knife block. Waiting for me to have more time to devote to her.

Someday (my husband is asking when) I will find a more suitable place for Her Royal Highness.

I love the comparison between the typewriter and the Iphone right next to it. As much as you would like to hold on to the past, it's hard to escape "today", isn't it?

lol, i still have purchases I made a month ago at the antique show sitting on my dining room table, awaiting their final clean up and new homes.
Glad to see I'm not alone here. Good thing it's summer and we mostly eat outdoors, or I don't know where these things would be!

Sounds/looks like the majority of my finds! They come home and they sit - for a REALLY LONG TIME.Oh look, there are scrabble tiles on the end of the counter right now and I will not divulge how long they have been there!

Lol, we are connected somehow. I have two of these old typewriters and was just debating if I should put one in an auction and keep the other for decoration, but can't decide where.
