    Can Something Be Too Kitschy?

Published by Pam Kessler | 139 words. · About 1 minute to read this article. -

I found this bear planter at the antique store yesterday and I was oddly drawn to him.

"Come sit on my log with me, Pam. I promise not to eat you."

I use vintage planters in odd ways in different areas of my house.

I think they're fun to throw stuff in. Pencils, q-tips, notepads, cell phone cords, etc.

They give a room that little bit of unexpected quirkiness. And isn't that what we all strive for in our home decor? Quirkiness? No?

But does Mr. Bear cross some kitschy line with you? Have I jumped the shark, so to say, with buying this guy?

    What are your thoughts?

I have put up a little survey over on the sidebar toward the bottom. I'd love you to weigh in (and you don't even have to get on a scale!).

I did the survey which was darling all in itself-you could have a career writing surveys! I think the bear has personality.

He's a fun piece! I do the same with my Milk glass pieces. It makes for not so boring decor!! Glad he didn't bite 😉
      Have a great weekend! Liz

Oh what fun, I get to vote! I think he's sweet and an unexpected surprise the way you've displayed them. He'll be a great addition! I vote keeper.

Sweet!!!! Love, and probably one of a kind, so if you didn't buy him now, he might have gone to somebody else forever, and you would never forgive yourself.. A very fun purchase.

I just realized I spelled "sight" incorrectly in my poll and it won't let me change it now. I need a grammar correction system, instead of just a spell checker. Let's just pretend I wanted to say "site" instead.

Planters are so functional! Thanks for sharing how you put these sturdy pieces to use!

Not only do I think your little bear is adorable, if you get rid of him, I BEG you to let me buy him! He goes perfectly with my childhood cookie jar that I keep treats in for my grandsons. I'd sit him right next to Bambi and Squirrel! 😉

When a sweet, quirky little bear calls out to you, you must listen!
I think our homes would be so boring without these little things.
He makes me happy just looking at him- that's enough for me!

I love him and think he's perfect!! I'd much rather lean that way than to the 'too serious' side! 🙂

LOL-Well, I do think he's cute. He does remind me of something my Aunt B would have owned though. She would have had it right next to the Maple Syrup container that looked like a Log Cabin.....lol xo Diana
ps. I would have picked him up for my little garden room....
