I Really Don't Need Another Chair

Published by Pam Kessler | 277 words. · About 2 minutes to read this article. -

My niece and I went shopping at one of my favorite antique malls this week. And surprise, surprise, I bought a chair.

This chair is a child's size version of a wooden folding chair.

    Red folding wooden chair.

I also found this beautiful book - Bunny Brown and His Sister Sue At Camp Rest-A-While. It is such a pretty green color and, since Easter is coming up, I thought the title was timely. Not sure why they need to rest awhile (hope no one is ill), but if I actually read it, I will let you know. I guess some people actually read books instead of buying them for the covers?

Green book on a red folding chair - Bunny Brown and His Sister Sue At Camp Rest-A-While.

On the inside, there is an inscription stating it was given to Evelyn on December 25, 1925. So I guess Evelyn would probably be close to 90 now. I hope she's one of those spry octogenarians who is out there sky diving and traveling the globe.

The author, Laura Lee Hope, was also the author of the Bobbsey Twin series and the Outdoor Girl series of books. Wonder if they had pretty covers too?

The bird has no function in this photo other than to look charming. I thought it was a little plain with just the book and chair, so I threw her in at the last minute.

If the chair looks familiar it is because you have seen its older brother I bought at a barn sale a few weeks ago.

And its older sister, in my Yogi Bear Would Be Jealous post.

    Vintage wooden picnic baskets.

I now have 9 wooden folding chairs that I have never sat in.

Yes, my name is Pam and I am loving buying chairs.

LOL- you are so funny. I have never seen a child's folding chair! Great score. I have 2 folding chairs that I love and I do sit in them from time to time.
I have the same book, and yes, the other books have great covers. Ebay the author and you will see! Have several of them around here somewhere. I also have the vintage boy scout series, too. I love the old book covers.
So many chairs and only one butt...LOL. Love it.

How funny! I love all of your chairs. At least you can fold them up and put them away when you're not using them!

I buy a lot of chairs also - big and small. I don't know why. I have never sat in most of them.

Very funny! My youngest daughter has the same affliction. She has collected quite a few children's chairs and her husband asks if they really need any more. She tells him that they will have a chair for every child at their daughter's birthday parties.

Pam, you could host a party with those chairs and your addiction has no dark connotations and can be stored easily. My addiction has a dark funeral association you know. BTW I found the most fabulous lamp at a funeral home yard sale and my nursing staff at the time were completely mortified.

      Hi Pam!

Oh, you are too funny! How lucky for you to have found so many chairs all from the same family... I will have to read those other posts and learn their history.

The book really is darling and the bird... well EVERYONE knows I LOVE birds!

Have a nice weekend and enjoy the read!

      xoxo Bunny Jean
