I got a little bit of shopping done this weekend.
I love to shop yard sales and thrift stores to find fun items to decorate the house.
I bought a little china dog that says Germany on the bottom.
I wish it were a real one, but I don't think Sheba would want another dog on a permanent basis. She loves to play with them, but she's used to being an only dog I think.
I can't tell if he's a Schnauzer or a Scottie. Or maybe something else. What do you think?
I love this little red transferware plate
which has a lot of crazing on it. I think the crazing makes it look well loved. I won't use it for food though, just to throw my keys and change in.
It was made by Salem Heirloom which was an Ohio manufacturer from 1898 - 1967. No idea when this particular saucer would have been made, but by the amount of crazing on it you would think it's really, really old.
I also bought a few small grapevine wreaths, just because they were practically free and you never know when you'll need one for a decorating project.
And a bell shaped lampshade.
It has a pretty vintage looking cabbage rose print.
It was originally $3.93, but was part of the 75% Off Sale today at the thrift store. So without getting out my calculator I'm going to say it was less than $1.00. You can hardly tell I used to be an Accountant.
I bought it for this lamp that I purchased at a garage sale a few months ago, but I think it's a tad too small.

Great finds! I love the red transfer ware. The crazing gives it character.
The roast certainly does count. Now you can take the money you saved on it and go thrift shopping again. Sorry, I'm teaching you my bad habits!

Any time you get a discount on good meat it is a thrifty find.
Your little German dog is wonderful. He can be any kind you want to love. I have to go along with the terrier idea.

Pam, Your little doggie looks like a Heinz mix- with a lot of terrier in him!-LOL We had both a Cairn and a Scottie.
Pretty red plate and cute lampshade fabric. Yup, he's just a "little" too small for that floor lamp! I was just at Tuesday Morning- they have such a good variety of shades at our location. I need several, but will be taking the lamps in to try them. Now, you know I will get some funny looks when I do that! We used to have a rep who carried a line of shades that he sold to furniture dealers, but he isn't carrying the line anymore. Now THAT was convenience, not to mention inexpensive. Hope you find the right size shade for your lamp!

I love that little dog! I think it's probably a terrier. 🙂

Your thrifty finds are all terrific. Especially the roast. HA! The little dog might be a terrier. He is a good piece and a good bargain. The shade is a tad too small, what a shame, it is so pretty. What if you hung fringe on the bottom?
Hugs, Jeanne

Great finds. Cute puppy...and I LOVE that lampshade. I still love the florals..and that one is really pretty. I do think you are right-it is a tad too small for that lamp...but for that price you will find a place to use it somewhere. Wonder if you could add a deep fringe all the way around the base? (scrolling back up to see) Hmmm..it would have to be a really long fringe but might look kinda cool...
Hugs- Diana

The lamp shade is covered with Waverly Fabric, I covered one myself years ago with the same pattern. It is a vintage look. I also had some pillows made with it, my Dad has them now. It's very pretty. Love the transferware plate, you did well, have a wonderful day, tami
