    Vintage Cameras

Published by Pam Kessler | 253 words. · About 2 minutes to read this article. -

As shown in my Red to Black post, I have started to collect some vintage cameras in the last few months. It's been one of those things that has snowballed. I started out thinking a few would look cute sitting in my office and Bang! next thing you know it has become an obsession.

    Vintage camera collection.

With as many cameras as I run across in estate sales and antique stores, I have decided to be fairly selective about what I buy though. Don't want to be the crazy cat camera lady!

    A Kodak Brownie Flash Six-20 Camera (manufactured from 1946 - 1955)

A Kodak Brownie Starlet Camera (manufactured 1956)

A Number 2A Kodak Brownie Model B, Box Camera. I believe. I have a hard time distinguishing between all the similar-looking Brownies of this type, they all start looking the same. (Manufactured in the early 1900's)

A Kodak Brownie Starmite II Camera (manufactured from 1962-1967), pictured beside a box for a Brownie Starlet Camera.

One of my favorite cameras - A Kodak Retina IIIC (manufactured from 1954 - 1957). Does this not just shout out James Bond? Very retro cool look to it.

And surprise, a non-Kodak - an Imperial Mark XII Flash Camera (manufactured in the late 1950's)

The other non-Kodak item is a box for a Falcon camera - no camera, just the box. If there was a camera, it would have been from the 1940's.

Do you have any collections that started out innocently enough and have blossomed into a full blown addiction?

You have a great collection. Thanks for the link. I have 8-10 vintage cameras too. Some are Brownies. I need to learn more about them. My father in law is giving me a camera he got as a wedding gift 55 years ago this weekend. I can't wait to check it out!

ALL my collections started out as "innocent", single-item purchases! Now, I'm overloaded with hankies, pottery, Derby glasses,..... Love your camera display!

You have quite the little collection going there. I'm not much of a collector...unless you count books and magazines.

OMG! At the risk of sounding a tad bit too excited, you have just inspired me to do the same thing!

I have a black shelf similar to yours. It's collecting dust & spider webs in the garage now. I'm going to spruce it up and display my vintage cameras on it.

Thanks so much for the inspiration!!!

Visiting from My Romantic Home. Following you now. 🙂

You have a wonderful camera collection, Pam. Now if you could find an old Polaroid that pulls out to add to it...I will be on the lookout for you.

I'm with you, I like that James Bond bound one. Now I have to figure out how to wrap leather around my SLR to make it look as cool.

Pam thanks for stopping by and finding inspiration for decorating your porch. I agree, I love the lanterns that are so popular right now.
I've done the house now too if you'd like a peek.

You have a great camera collection! I have a small camera collection too. It started out innocent enough but now I'm pretty obsessed with them.

Such a handsome camera collection. I'm kicking myself. When we purchased my grandparents home 2 houses ago, all of their cameras were sold at an estate sale. I'd love to own a few now.

Uh-oh-this is getting serious! You have a special shelving unit JUST for cameras now. You know what would be really cool? If you would start taking pictures of CATS with those CAMERAS and then you could be the crazy CAMERA CAT lady!

I have been collecting dust for the past few weeks but I worked on cleaning up my collection tonight. I just realized I forgot a bedroom...sigh...This is NOT a good collection to have. xo Diana
