Use fun retro Christmas decor mixed in with your more modern pieces for a festive and nostalgic vintage Christmas style.
The other day I showed you my dining room all decked out for Christmas.
Today I'm showing you little snippets of some other areas decorated for the holidays. It's more of a Christmas vignette tour than a whole house tour, I guess.
And it's all pretty much retro Christmas decor.
BTW, if you follow me on Facebook I did an impromptu Christmas home tour on Facebook Live.
Absolutely terrifying.
It's the kind where you are actually LIVE. On Facebook. For all the world to see.
And you can't edit it and you ramble on and on way longer than you thought you would and the cold you've been fighting for the last two weeks kicks into high gear so you start coughing and then half way through the video your mind starts to wander and you start to think about your high school friends seeing this and thinking "Boy, she didn't age well". . .
That kind of Facebook Live.
So welcome to my non-live, non-stress inducing version of my Christmas home tour. I'll keep my commentary to a minimum because there are LOTS OF PHOTOS.
Christmas Kitchen tour
AKA "The Kitschy Side Of Christmas Threw Up All Over The Place"
I found this cute vintage salt and pepper snowman at a local shop. He's quirky and a little odd, but he fits right in here.
The obligatory red truck with Christmas tree in the back. The official "thing" of Christmas 2017.
I had never seen a red Shiny Brite box out in the wild before, so when I saw it at the cheapo antique mall I grabbed it up.
The ornaments inside are ugly and NOT Shiny Brites, but RED BOX!!!
Vintage Shiny Brites ((swoon)).
What you lookin' at?
Christmas Entryway tour
AKA "Hope You're Not Thirsty, Because There's No Hot Cocoa In Those Thermoses"
See, I told you. No hot cocoa here.
That's one of those cute Target Dollar Spot enamelware coffee cups they had this year.
Pants hangers are not just for pants anymore, they work wonders for displaying odd prints and book pages you find while out thrifting.
And last, but not least (OK, it is least, because I sort of ran out of steam for decorating when I hit the Living Room)
Christmas Living Room tour
AKA "Let's Drag An Old Screen Inside And Hang Ornaments From It"
Did I mention I found a Rushton Coca-Cola Santa this year?
I've wanted one forever, but had never found one reasonably priced before now. They're sort of a mixture of cute and creepy all at the same time.
Santa is supposed to have a small bottle of Coca-Cola in his hand as they were promotional items from Coca-Cola in the 50's and 60's. I think Mrs. Claus has already taken his bottle to the recycling bin though.
If you are viewing this on desktop, you can roll over Santa to find out why I think he's a little creepy. I woke up to THAT one morning when I went to pour my morning glass of OJ.

Alrighty then, I'm off to get some last minute Christmas gifts. Because why buy something when you see it in November, when you can run all over town to find it right before Christmas?

Pam, I can't possibly pick out a favorite...I love all your vintage decor! Wish I'd saved more of my vintage ornaments. Way before blogging, I purged a lot of my old stuff. Wish I had it back now. I see a few ornaments on your tree that I recognize though. The 3 tiered step stool caught my eye...the one you have (with the pile of Shiny Brite boxes). I found one quite a few years ago in someone's trash pile. My lucky day.
Pam
How exciting! I love that feeling when you see something FUN in someone's trash 🙂 I once passed by a whole stack of Christmas blow molds in someone's trash pile, but didn't grab them because I was late for an appointment. I was so sure they'd be there when I got back an hour later. Wrong!!!

Isn't that always the way it is? To find things when you're on your way somewhere and can't stop? Last year I found a wooden sleigh someone was throwing away, and I was all dressed up going to a fancy Christmas shindig. I said to myself, I would get it on the way back. But then I said to myself, it might not BE here, so I turned around and picked it up...somehow...without messing up the clothes.

love all the decorations.
Pam
Thank you! Hope you are having a wonderful holiday season! I just stopped by your blog and now I HAVE to find some baklava! Love that stuff! (Probably should figure out how to make it myself).
Laurie
Love your decorating style! I have many of the same vintage decorations, including a "Tom & Jerry" egg nog bowl and mugs. It belonged to my grandmother and I have fond memories of her. I think I have an old red Tonka truck in the attic that was my son's. I need to put a little tree in it. Merry Christmas!
Pam
Thank you! I just found that Tom & Jerry bowl set last year at Christmastime and I love it! I need to figure out ho to make Tom & Jerry's though. Maybe the non-alcohol kind.

Can I come sit in your kitchen and eat cookies?
I'll clean up after myself.

Come on over!!!

Love this look. Where did you find the car and camper S&P shakers? And the Flurry's skating rink plaque. Would love to add something like those to my vintage decorations.
Pam
The car and camper salt and pepper were from Target last year. They still had some on their online site up until a few weeks ago. This year they have two cars with trees tied to the top which are cute, but just not camper cute 🙂 Your can see what they look like HERE. I did find some camper ones on Amazon. If you go to my Amazon recommendations page you can see them about half way down the page. Again, I don't think they are quite as cute as last year's Target ones, but they are still cute. Oh, and the Flurry's thing was a gift and it does not have a tag on the back saying where it's made or anything 🙁

So many good ideas to copy! Thanks for sharing your home! If I recall, you have a corner fireplace? I'd love to see how you decorated for Christmas! I have a wood burning stove in a corner and I'm always looking for inspiration!? Merry Christmas!
Pam
Merry Christmas to you and your family! Prepared to be unimpressed with the fireplace. My husband has the thing running for at least a few hours every single day, so I can't really put anything on it.

You've filled your home with fun vintage holiday decor, Pam. They add so much more character than all new decorations, don't you think? Love your creativity and your humor, too. I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas!
Jeannie
I have that red/white shiny brite box! And the ornaments are in it. I have a box of large shiny brites & another box of medium size ones. I had the original boxes til they just fell apart a few years ago. These ornaments were on my parents' first Christmas tree in 1948. I'm so pleased to have them. I get the biggest thrill from seeing my things on my favorite blogs.
Merry Christmas to you & your family.

Oh my gosh you are too funny. I am in love with retro Christmas as well and have a few of the same items you do...like the Skotch cooler, Plaid thermoses, Target cup/candle (I bought 3:0) and those adorable camper mugs from the Dollar Store! Happy Holidays!

OH I love it all, Pam! You have such fun display ideas! I love the larger tree in the back of your truck...I need to do that! All these goodies bring back really nice memories for me...probably why I collect them! Your home is beautiful, cozy, and festive! Merry Christmas!
Diane
Pam, your home is gorgeous, and your decorating is so beautifully and creatively done! Had I only known as a child of the late 50s/early 60s! My mom always made our home so inviting at Christmas. Thanks for the memories!

Love it all! Your Santa/serial killer is hilarious!
