    Baby Got Back Porch Ideas

Published by Pam Kessler | 516 words. · About 3 minutes to read this article. -

Porch that is. Baby got back porch!

And since I'm stuck in the 90's with Sir Mix A Lot . . .

Back when that song came out I was super excited that those of us with ample backsides were finally being appreciated. It's not every day in the world of scrawny little butts that someone writes a song about the real variety of booty.

Nowadays, there's Kim Kardashian with her larger than life bum, but back then, not so much.

Enough about butts, last week I showed you my front porch. Now it's time to show you my backside.

A porch just isn't a porch unless you have some rocking chairs on it.

And by typing that last sentence I made myself feel like I'm 94 years old, walking with a cane and getting ready to discuss the gout.

A rocking chair is mighty darn comfortable though!

This is one of the planters I showed you in my post about Swiss chard - Containing My Enthusiasm For Swiss Chard.

And here is my red geranium I showed you in my Lazy Girl's Guide For 4th of July Decorations.

That green chair is one of my favorite thrifting finds EVER. Oddly enough I don't think I've ever sat in it.

My butt may be too big!

That was pretty much the left side of the porch, on the right side of the porch we have my new-to-me table that I covered in "zinc".

In the next week or so I'll show you a tutorial on how my husband and I refurbished the table.

OK, so these are actually Christmas deer that I bought at a yard sale a few weeks ago. I just couldn't bear the thought of throwing them in a storage box for the next few months, so I brought them outside.

They give the place a rustic feel, I think. Plus they give me someone to talk to when I'm sitting here writing blog posts.

The lattice panels were another yard sale find. I just wrapped jute rope around the top of mason jars and tied them to the lattice and voila, you have vases.

The blooms are off my Endless Summer Hydrangea.

When I don't have fresh hydrangea to cut for them, I can put a little sand and battery operated candles in the jars.

And this is what the whole porch looks like all at once.

If you're concerned about the snake that I mentioned in my last post, he lives on the right hand side of the porch.

I live on the left hand side.

We try not to cross into each others areas.

You have a wonderful back side, I mean porch. Looks like a nice comfy place to relax. A well placed geranium is always perfect. But I LOVE that green chair it's on. LOVE it.

Oh my goodness... beautiful! I am totally over the moon smitten over those lattice panels for height and hanging stuff behind your little table. What a neat idea! That would work so well on a wall where I am right now.. so tempting! And your shots of colour everywhere, swooning!

      Loved your tour, Pam!

Thank you so much Donna! I bought the lattice at a yard sale and as soon as I saw it I knew what I wanted to use it for 🙂

The back porch looks terrific. Love all the furniture and especially the black rockers. That snake would be gone if I lived there or I would never go outside to sit on the porch. Guess you can tell that I am terrified of them.
      Have a great week,
      Mary

Pam, I've had a busy morning and still couldn't wait to see your porch. I knew you would inspire me in someway. And you did...now I have decided our rocking chairs have to be repainted black! We love our rockers too. The best place to solve the worlds problems! Fun tour. ~Jeanette

Your back porch is just as cute as the front. Maybe even cuter. Are your flowers loving rain every day. Our weeds are doing great.

I have two of those folding chairs, I use them constantly in my studio. They are my favorite thrifting find ever as well. $4 each and in great condition. Mine are painted white with some roses and morning glories hand painted on them. Love your back porch. I need to do another post on mine, the flowers and planters are filling in making for a gardenalicious space to sit and have my breakfast or a wonderful dinner al fresco!

Love the lattice screen and vases. And everything else! Your co-existing with the snake is brave. We had a little snake family in one of our perennial beds a few years ago and I still hate going near it. Especially to weed.

Everything is so pretty Pam. I've got back too, lol. I wouldn't have packed away the deer either. One of my favorite things is the thermos with the red cap. I love vintage. Excited to tour with you any day!

Love your porch...especially the lattice with the jar vases - That gave me such a great idea for my own porch - I have some shutters that came off the front of our house recently...hubby wanted to trash them, but I'm thinking I can make something similar - thanks for the inspiration!
