    Yard Sale Oddities?

Published by Pam Kessler | 210 words. · About 2 minutes to read this article. -

What's the oddest thing you ever bought at a yard sale?

A chipped Garfield coffee mug? A can of Billy Beer? An upholstered chair with a questionable smell (you know what I mean, no one wants me to type "pee" in my post, do they)?

Yeah, well I bought a pair of wild turkey legs at a yard sale last weekend.

    Dried wild turkey legs.

    Trump that!

I thought my son would think they were fun. Turns out they make good back scratchers. Not that I am touching them with a ten foot pole, but that is what I am told.

Besides, Thanksgiving is right around the corner. I'm sure there is some way I can work them in to the fall decor.

So, do tell. What is the weirdest thing you have ever bought?

If you are looking for me this weekend, I will be at the Country Living Fair here in Columbus (Please do not rob my house, my twenty Dobermans will be home alone and hungry). I will be tweeting and instagraming and facebooking and all that stuff while I'm there.

And I will be sure to let you know if wild turkey legs are all the rage at the Fair this year! I just have a feeling about this one.

So good to see you yesterday. You looked great. I hope you and Emma had fun. I can't remember her real name hah. I am sure that I shocked you when I said hello. Sure was hoping it was you.
I didn't go today....ended up in Urgent Care last night.
So today I am resting and hoping to return for at lea an hour. Anxious to see what you bought and what caught your eye. I want to go back and get one of those cute little creations made from the old tins. Did you go to the Home event.

I have bought some crazy things at garage sales but I'm pretty sure the turkey legs have me beat. Really curious to see what you do with them:-)

Have fun at the Country Living Fair. SUPER jealous!

My husband has dragged home so many unusual items, I wouldn't even know where to start. Have a super duper time this weekend at the Country Living Fair. Can't wait to see pics!!

Pam, I'd like to know what you can find out about this turkey from the band on his leg. I'm so curious !

You win. I've never picked up anything quite like that! I look forward to seeing you on Saturday. Keep your turkey legs at home, please. 😀

Well, this isn't a weird thing, but my husband went to an auction and came home with a frog (you know for flowers) and he thought it was a pencil holder...lol...he tried to put pens in it and they kept falling out...so now it's MINE! I think a nice Thanksgiving wreath with the turkey legs where the bow would be would cause some interesting dinner conversation, don't you? OR, you could spray them black and use them for a Halloween wreath...

I'm happy to read that you're working them into your Thanksgiving decor and not dinner. And why in the h-e-double-toothpicks would someone have these at a yard sale?

Have a great time in Columbus! I'll keep an eye on your house for you. Have the boa constrictors been fed?

Oh how funny. Made me remember when our kids were little, we would buy a fresh turkey....my husband would chase after them with the feet...they would scream!!

I'd pick them up to freak out the BF, but that's about it! They are kinda gross & I wouldn't let anyone scratch my back with them... ever...

I haven't bought anything too freaky because I've never seen it. Given the chance to buy certain items I've seen on the show Oddities, I would.

Eewweeu. Is that how it's spelled?

But I look forward to seeing how you make them look good.
